Bangla Radio Canberra : 2nd November 2009

Bangla Radio Canberra – 2 November 2009
This week's program presented live recording (Part 1) of an interesting seminar on 'bangalit-to: otit, bortoman o bhobish-shot' presented by Professor Anisuzzaman, Professor Emeritus, Dhaka University, Bangladesh and Professor Dipesh Chakrabarty, Professor of History, Chicago University, USA. It was organised by Drishtipat Australia and Bangla Academy Australia at the Australian National University in Canberra on 30 August 2009. This week's program covered Professor Anisuzzaman' s presentation on the ‘Bangalees’ of the sub-continent: their history, how politics shaped their language and culture, their future that lies in their plurality, and the responsibility that, according to him, has slipped to the lower-middle class from the upper middle class. This week's program was produced and presented by Sadequr Rahman.
